Largest Ship Graveyard

At the very bottom there is a link to see it out on Google Maps....Check it out!

Largest Ship Graveyard

The Bay of Nouadhibou, Mauritania, is the largest ship graveyard in the world. More than 300 old ships (most of them 25-50 years old) from all nations were dumped here during last 20 years.

There is no mystery in how those ships got there, for years Mauritanian harbor officers were taking bribes and allowing ships to be discarded in the harbor. Discarding a ship is very expensive so during the years many companies from all over the world got rid of their unwanted ships cheaply in the Bay of Nouadhibou.

You can see the entire bay filled with rusting abandoned ships on Google Maps
